Ohio knows Bob Evans as a breakfast preferred choice. From it’s first breakfast of fresh sausage and eggs on the Bob Evans Farm in  Gallipolis, Ohio, Bob Evans Restaurants has grown into a national chain. In 2004, Bob Evans Farms purchased a California chain of eighty plus privately held  restaurants known as Mimi’s Cafe. Founded in 1978, Mimi’s Cafe made even Bob Evans realize how  valued their colorful French cottage locations could become to hungry Americans. Since the merger, Mimi’s Cafe has expanded to an additional fifty locations.

The opening of Mimi’s Cafe on Polaris Parkway in Polaris Mall was an immediate favorite for upscale family dining. Customers can dine in different themed rooms.
Mimi’s Cafe is popularly known for attentive hospitality, warm, tasty fresh cooked meals and charming cafe glamor. Mimi’s is open the whole day, with delectable breakfasts, mouthwatering lunches and sumptuous dinners which have fresh  quality ingredients with healthy options and seasonal offerings.

Every day at Mimi’s Cafe starts with a “Just Enough Breakfast”  such as the Santa Fe Breakfast Enchiladas, Ciabatta Breakfast Sandwich, Eggs Ranchero Bowl, or the Asparagus Florentine Bowl. “House Specialties”, always served with fresh squeezed juice, include Chipolte Breakfast Burrito and Huevos Papas. The “Gourmet Francais” menu includes Crepes Brie Cheese Lorraine, Eggs Florentine Benedict, Cheddar and Broccoli Quiche and Pacific Breakfast Croissant. Three Egg Omlettes (all served with red skin potatoes, fresh baked muffin and fresh squeezed juice) include Capresse Omelette, Tuscan Vegetable Omelette, Crab and Avocado Omelette, Five Alarm Santa Fe Omelette and Mardi Gras Omelette.

And that’s just BREAKFAST!!!

The “Hot Off The Griddle” menu includes Blueberry Stuffed French Toast, Mixed Berry Pain Perdue French Toast, Buttermike Pancakes and Belgian waffles.

Bakery items available in twelve and four packs include Muffin selections, Carrot Raisin Nut Loaf and Low-Fat Blueberry Muffins. Sides of Watermelon, Honeydew Melon, Pineapple, Strawberries, Raspberries, Bananas and Grapefruit add to every breakfast menu choice.

The Dinner Menu offers a selection equal to the breakfast choices. Select homemade soup, fresh quiche, pasta, burgers, steak, ribs, fish and delicious desserts. Even breakfast is better with a dessert choice of Mimi’s Mousse Ensemble, Mimi’s Bread Pudding, or a Tripple Chocolate Brownie.

Polaris area consumers make every day of the week a Sunday at Mimi’s Cafe.

Lazy Chameleon Powell OH Restaurant

Thursday, July 9th, 2009

lazychameleon

In 1997 a small neighborhood bar and grill that dabbled in live music opened in Powell, OH. With a goal to offer such a relaxing atmosphere that caused anyone walking in to “change colors” from the hectic outside, the name chosen was The Lazy Chameleon. To reach that goal required live music and a great seafood menu. Once inside, you will realize the original goal continues to offer a chance to relax, socialize and listen to outstanding live music. The Lazy Chameleon is now recognized as one of the premier offerings for live music in Central Ohio.

Combine the Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening live bands and groups with the restaurant and bar, and enjoy an outstanding, fun atmosphere. Dancing, live music and award winning seafood continues to change attitudes and “colors”.

The Lazy Chameleon is an award winning offering. Awards such as “Best Seafood” and “Best Margaritas”  are constantly nominated by various voters. Changing specials such as “Rib Night” and “All You Can Eat Crablegs” are crowd favorites.

One of the best appetizer menus available in Central Ohio starts menu selections with offerings such as Maryland Crabcakes, Peel and Eat Shrimp, Fried Calamari, Jalapeno’s Stuffed with Crab, Buffalo Shrimp and  Spinach Artichoke Crab Dip.

Follow your chosen appetizer with a selection from their “Surf and Such” menu section. Mouth watering Loco Coconut Shrimp, Coastal Crabcakes, Cajun Pasta Alfredo, Chicken Capriese, Mesquite Mahi Mahi, Dockside Scallops, Steak Oscar and Fish and Chips are seafood winning recipes.

Small plates, such as Border Quesadillas, Margarita Pizza and Blacken Scallops are as well prepared for additional choices. Perhaps just a sandwich, such as the Sunset Chicken on Focaccia, Mesquite Mahi Mahi, Smokin Blues Burger, Open Face Steak or a Son of the Son of a Cheeseburger might make your evenings choice while enjoying the live music.  Every selection always goes great with a cold beer or a surfin Margarita.

Band names and showtimes are listed on their website, as well as a sampling of the great sounds. Need a break, want to socialize, savor excellent seafood, hear live music; slip in and “change color” at The Lazy Chameleon.

Buffalo Wild Wings at Polaris Parkway

Wednesday, July 8th, 2009

In 1981 two guys in Kent, Ohio had a craving for some authentic New York-style Buffalo wings. Instead of road tripping to New York, they decided to open their own joint. Hence the beginning of Buffalo Wild Wings Grill & Bar. This was the very beginning of a no-holds-barred grill and bar with affordable, top-quality food, including their special award-winning chicken wings. Today, with three core goals of quality food, value pricing and an entertaining atmosphere, there are over five hundred locations in thirty seven states.

One of the newest locations, on Polaris Parkway at Polaris Mall, began serving hungry crowds from the first day they opened.
Buffalo Wild Wings has the casual atmosphere for enjoying great wings, cold beer and sports on the large screen TV’s. Decorated with sports memorabilia, the relaxing eating area and bar make every day feel like a great weekend. Known as BWW to the regulars, it fast becomes a favorite for: “Wing Tuesdays”, “Boneless Thursdays”,  “Night Hunger”, and “Us vs Them Tournaments”.

Buffalo Wild Wings may be ordered with fourteen different sauces, all available to take home in bottles. Choices include Parmesan Garlic, Asian Zine, Caribbean Jerk, Mango Habanero and Blazin. Heed the warning on each Blazin container or order: “keep away from eyes, pets and children”.

Additional menu selections include ribs and combos, beefy burgers, greens, flatbreads, sandwiches, wraps and buffalitos, a kids menu and desserts.  The “you-deserve-it” dessert selection includes Chocolate Fudge Cake, New York Cheesecake and Deep-dish Apple Pie. Most locations have a bar for fun and relaxation. It remains, however, the award winning New York Buffalo wings that keep Buffalo Wild Wings as the “winner and still champion” of chicken wings. Either traditional or boneless, America loves chicken wings at Buffalo Wild Wings.

Check out their web site for sample notes to leave when chicken wing hunger sets in. Once you feel the hunger, they highly recommend you leave a note at home or work. Just leave, now, and copy one of their suggested postum notes, such as “had to take  pet penguin to the vet, be back Wednesday” or “found baby on my doorstep, be back Wednesday”. These two suggestions are designed to help you get to “Wings Tuesdays”. For “Boneless Thursdays”, just use the same note and change the day to “Be back Friday”.
